Dr. James Wanliss

James Wanliss (pronounced One-liss) is an expert in modeling and analysis of nonlinear dynamical systems. He was born in King William’s Town, South Africa and grew up in Cape Town. His work has focused mainly on the causes and consequences of space weather. He is the recipient of several awards and honors, notably the prestigious CAREER grant from the National Science Foundation awarded to outstanding scholar-teachers. He conducted postdoctoral studies at the Canadian Space Agency and has been a visiting researcher at the Japanese Space Agency, UCLA, and the University of Washington. He has also done research as a visiting associate professor at Kyung-Hee University in South Korea, the Solar-Terrestrial Environment Laboratory at Nagoya University in Japan, and Clemson University. He served as an expert reviewer for the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change.
James has published over 60 peer reviewed scientific articles, and over 140 conference papers. He has also published in psychology and medical areas, on earthquakes, and combat dynamics in Afghanistan. James has been a frequent speaker at Christian conferences, radio shows, and has published extensively in popular Christian journals.
James' research work has been almost entirely supported by U.S. government agencies, notably NASA, and NSF. He is a Senior Fellow and Contributing Writer for The Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation, and the author of Resisting the Green Dragon: Dominion, Not Death.
