About the event

A significant challenge for the secular earth science community has been accounting for the major tectonic changes in western North America since the mid-Cretaceous part of the rock record. These changes include the formation of the Western Interior Seaway that brought a large portion of Western North America below sea level and the subsequent uplift of the Rocky Mountains, Colorado Plateau, and Great Plains to over a kilometer above sea level. This talk will present results from the geodynamics code Terra along with data from several secular studies that provide insight into the processes responsible for these dramatic changes in the context of catastrophic plate tectonics and the Biblical Flood.
