Jay Seegert

Engineer, LogosRA Ambassador B.S. (Physics) A.S. (Technology)

Biography:

Jay Seegert is the Founder and Keynote Speaker for The Starting Point Project (TheStartingPointProject.com) and the author of Creation & Evolution: Compatible or in Conflict? He has served on the Board Directors for Logos Research Associates for the past 7 years.

Jay has degrees in both Physics (University of Wisconsin-Whitewater) and Engineering Technology (John Brown University, Arkansas).  He has been speaking on Creation/Evolution and the Authority of Scripture, as well as many other apologetic topics, for over 34 years.  He travels both nationally and internationally, speaking up to 190 times a year.  In addition to his book, he has authored 10 DVD titles, 7 pocket-size booklets, numerous articles and many livestream broadcasts.

In 2007 Jay gave up his own computer programming business and founded the Creation Education Center (renamed in 2017 to The Starting Point Project).  He formerly served as President of the Creation Science Society of Milwaukee for 3 years and was offered a fulltime position as a national speaker with Answers in Genesis (directed by Ken Ham), but after much prayer felt led by God to turn down the offer.  Jay has also served as an adjunct national speaker for Creation Ministries International.  In an effort to bring Christian apologetics to state universities, Jay is also a Representative Speaker for Ratio Christi, a group that LogosRA is currently working with.

Short Personal Note:

Things are certainly upside-down right now in the midst of the COVID pandemic, but God is still on the throne and there’s only room for one!

My speaking schedule has largely been put on hold.  I was giving up to 190 talks per year, so that’s a huge change!  I am learning what it means to be content in all things.  (I haven’t achieved that yet… but I’m learning!)  If anyone is interested in organizing an event, just let me know.  We do not charge for our engagements, we simply accept honorariums or whatever the host deems appropriate.  We do ask that travel expenses be covered beyond that.

I have been doing a lot of remote conferences via Livestream and Zoom, but they certainly are not the same as being there in person.  I’m trusting doors to slowly open again, but in the meantime, I’m getting a lot of research done and having a fair amount of opportunity for evangelism, since everyone is looking for answers.

Here’s my custom-made meme, in case your sense of humor is as bad as mine…
